In fact, the hotel tax, 4 percent, is one of the lowest in the region according to our findings, and there’s free parking. Just minutes from Philadelphia, the suburbs provide convenient access to major roadways, the Philadelphia International Airport, public transportation, and area attractions.

“When I go to New York to court corporate clients here, we sell this as a retreat that’s less than two hours away from the hustle and bustle,” said Gary Murray, chief brand accelerator at the hospitality marketing firm, Hurray Brands.

He’s also a consultant to Normandy Farm Hotel and Conference Center in Blue Bell, and the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown.
